As an Information Services Specialist
, you’ll be part of a dedicated, service-oriented team that helps patrons to understand and navigate information and technology. You’ll provide welcoming, knowledgeable support at our public service desk, assist patrons with digital problem solving, and provide accurate and relevant information as part of the library’s information services.
- Provide friendly, responsive customer service to all library patrons
- Assist patrons utilizing technology
- Answer basic informational questions and assist with library resources
- Support the use of study spaces
- Contribute to our information services and tools
- Help maintain library displays
- Collaborate with colleagues on programs, outreach, and special projects
- Some college coursework, an associate degree, or equivalent experience
- Experience providing direct customer service to adults
- Excellent communication and social skills
- Cultural awareness and the ability to serve a diverse community
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with technology
- Comfort with print and electronic resources
- A flexible, creative mindset and a genuine love of public service
- Experience working in a public library
This position involves both desk and active work, including standing, walking, lifting materials, and frequent computer use. Availability for days, evenings, and weekends may be required.

- A pay range for new hires in this position is $22.10 to 27.63 per hour. Offers are made within this range based on competencies, experience, and internal equity.

Part-time – 16.5 hours
Mondays: 12:30pm-5pm
Wednesdays: 12:30pm-5pm
Fridays: 12:30pm-5pm
Every other Sunday: 12pm-6pm
$22.10 to $27.63 depending upon experience
