Job Title:
Emergency Nurse Practitioner
Salary: £36 Weekday and £38 Weekend per hours
Location: Sandwell
Employment type: Temporary
Hours Per Week: Full time / Part time available
We have an amazing opportunity for an Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Sandwell and grow in knowledge and experience alongside our local and extended team of clinicians.
ENPs who can assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients, often in the ‘Minors injuries ’ area of the department. They will work within guidelines agreed with the clinical lead of an emergency department.
Education/Qualifications- Must have one of below Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice
- OR HEE ACP Digital Badge/RCN credentialing
- OR Level 6/7 qualification in Minor Illness & Level 6/7 qualification in Minor Injury
- OR Level 6/7 qualification specific to the role i.e., Urgent and Emergency Care
- Prescribing certificate (V300) Optional
- IRMER training (every 5 years)
- Interpretation of images (Red-Dot course) (every 5 years)
- Plastering
- Suturing
- Wound assessment and management
- Patient assessment, including pain assessment and management
- Reading and assessing X-rays
- diagnose and treat minor injuries or illnesses in an emergency care setting.
- Diagnosing problems such as sprains, strains, cuts and bites, giving medication (orally or via injection), and treating minor injuries including burns and wounds,
- Evidence of completion of V300 prescribing course is also desirable
- To feel confident being the first point of contact to treat, refer and formulate a discharge plan.
- First Level registered Nurse (NMC, ECP)
- Satisfactory DBS clearance
- Ability to triage (desirable)
- Understanding of autonomous practice within a minor illness/urgent care centre and the roles that deliver this
- A dedicated consultant for you to be in communication with and to look after your file.
- A compliance officer to keep all aid with your documents and to keep everything updated.
- A Finance Officer to manage your money and ensure your payments are made on time.
