As a CNC Miller at Pailton Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the precise manufacture of steering components used across automotive, defence, and heavy‑duty industries. Based at our Coventry HQ, you’ll operate on a rotating shift system (mornings and afternoons) and be entrusted with setting, operating, and maintaining CNC vertical and horizontal milling centres.

• Set, operate and maintain CNC milling machines (vertical/horizontal)
• Interpret engineering drawings, route cards and quality standards
• Load and adjust tooling and set offsets accurately
• Carry out in-process checks using micrometres, verniers, gauges, etc.
• Support 6S, TPM and lean initiatives on the shop floor
• Collaborate with other operators and team leaders to improve workflow
• Maintain accurate documentation of processes and part checks

• Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment
• Confidence reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on complex components
• A methodical approach to quality, safety and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of Fanuc or Siemens controls (desirable)

  • Mornings: 06:00–14:15 (Mon–Thu), 06:00–12:00 (Fri)
  • Afternoons: 14:45–23:00 (Mon–Thu), 12:30–18:30 (Fri)
• Pay: £15.24 per hour + 10% shift allowance (for afternoons)
• Overtime:
  Paid at 1.5x on weekdays and weekends
