School Governor (Sittingbourne) - Volunteer
Governors for Schools is looking for skilled volunteers to become school governors and support education in Sittingbourne.
What difference will you make?As a governor, you will help shape the future of schools, reviewing strategy, budgets, and school improvement plans.
Core Responsibilities Involved- Ensuring accountability and acting as a critical friend to the Head Teacher
- Monitoring and evaluating the school’s progress and budgetary allocation and control
- Shaping plans for school improvement and overseeing their implementation
- Setting the school’s aims and values
- Appointing senior members of staff including the Head Teacher
Over 18 and a volunteer spirit. Professional experience in HR, finance, law or project management adds value, and soft skills such as leadership, communication, and problem‑solving are highly welcome.
This is a volunteer, part‑time role with flexible commitments for community members committed to improving education.
