Delong Mountain Logistics is seeking experienced Heavy Haul Driversto join our team supporting operations at the Red Dog Mine, a world‑class zinc mine located 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Alaska.
This is more than a driving job—it’s a unique opportunity to work in one of the most remote and challenging environments in North America. Drivers may live anywhere, as transportation from Anchorage to the site is provided.
About Delong Mountain LogisticsDelong Mountain Logistics provides critical logistics services to Red Dog Mine, including hauling ore concentrate, transporting freight, and fuel transport operations. DML is a partnership between NANA Regional Corporation and Lynden Logistics.
What You’ll DoAs a Heavy Haul Driver, you will safely operate diesel-powered tractor‑trailers, including single or double bulk trailers, flatbeds, and lowboys. Transporting and delivering products, materials in liquid or dry form, or equipment on remote gravel haul roads through a National Monument in an environmentally sensitive area of Alaska.
What you will be doing:- Transport materials by truck between the mine site and coastal port via remote, environmentally sensitive Alaskan routes sometimes in extreme Arctic conditions.
- Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment before and after trips and completing required documentation
- Use in‑cab computer systems and time sheets to track loads and hours
- Maintain safe radio communication with dispatch, maintenance, and other drivers
- Perform minor roadside repairs and assisting maintenance as directed
- Ensure onboard safety and camera systems are operational and reporting issues promptly
- Follow all company safety policies, Fit for Work requirements, and PPE standards
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned equipment
- Able to work rotating schedules, including day and night shifts, during extended onsite rotations
- Wage: Competitive pay based on experience.

- Rotations may be up to four weeks at a time
- Reliable attendance and timeliness are required for this position
- Transportation between Anchorage/ and the site is provided
- Room, board and on‑site gym provided at no cost, while on location.
- Shifts are typically 12 hours and may vary based on operational needs, subject to Alaska state overtime.
- Work is performed in extreme weather and industrial conditions, with exposure to vibration, noise, moving equipment, and hazardous materials
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of related driving experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience operating trucks with gross weights exceeding 140,000 lbs
- Experience pulling single and double A‑train and/or B‑train trailer combinations
- At least 6 months of Class A driving experience in Arctic conditions
- Familiarity with low‑RPM diesel engines or willingness to learn
- Able to wear required PPE (hard hat, respirator, safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, etc.)
- Valid CDL Class A with Air Brakes, Doubles, Tank, and Haz Mat endorsements
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math and reasoning skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions in emergency situations
- Professional demeanor and strong public‑relations skills
- Willingness to follow policies, procedures, and direct supervision
This role requires the ability to:
- Sit for extended periods and climb on and off equipment
- Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
- Climb ladders on tank trailers and access lowboy or flatbed platforms and trailers as required.
- Meet vision and hearing requirements necessary for safe operation of heavy equipment
