** Join Our Team as a Surgical Technologist!** ** Job Description** - Be an integral part of the surgical team, scrubbing in on advanced and complex surgical procedures under the supervision of professional nurses.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s preferences for materials and instruments, adjusting as needed to ensure a smooth operation.
- Set up and maintain a sterile environment by preparing a sterile table with all necessary instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications.
- Take apart and reassemble instruments and equipment for cleaning, ensuring everything is ready for sterilization.
- Monitor and inventory supplies, maintaining sterility to enhance Quality Assurance in patient care.
- Develop and implement educational programs and learning aids for the department, contributing to staff development.
- Provide input on policies, procedures, and standards to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Be part of the emergency response team as a backup for urgent surgical cases.
** Other Functions** - Participate in assigned committees.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
** Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required** - High School Diploma or GED - Completion of a technologist training program accredited by a recognized agency - Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) - Current BLS certification
** Experience Required** - 1 year of experience preferred.
** Knowledge of:** - Anatomy and physiology, including appropriate instrumentation and suturing materials - Wound healing and potential complications - Developmental stages of individuals requiring nursing care
** Skills in:** - Sterile techniques and processing - Patient positioning
** Ability to:** - Respond effectively to requests during surgical procedures
** Shift Information:** - Day shift:
Tuesday - Friday, 10 hours per day; requires on-call availability.
