Base pay range: $50.14/hr - $70.35/hr

Position statementsJob responsibilities and leadership expectations are organized under key essential functions and accountabilities, including leadership/management, staffing, and other critical duties to ensure high-quality patient care, clinic efficiency, and safety. The role includes acting as an overall clinic leader to improve specialty and surgery clinic services, mentoring staff, and maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.
Key responsibilities- Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to clinic staff to proactively reduce barriers to access, standardize processes, and improve the patient experience.
- Identify and correct staff, clinic flow, or system issues; hold regular clinic meetings to promote engagement and improve quality, safety, efficiency, and patient experience.
- Act as an overall clinic leader to improve specialty and surgery clinic services.
- Recruit, orient, and mentor staff; support professional growth and development of nursing and clinic staff.
- Orient personnel to new policies, procedures, routines, and operating new equipment; address employee relations issues with escalation as needed.
- Direct and supervise nursing and clinic staff to assure the highest quality of patient care; oversee annual competencies and maintenance of certifications and licenses; evaluate Nursing Services QA/QI activities.
- Ensure adequate daily clinic staffing and promote outstanding quality customer service through teamwork and communication.
- Establish and maintain supplies for clinic; recommend purchases of new or replacement equipment.
- Maintain Joint Commission readiness for relevant areas, including policies, processes, and the care environment in compliance; maintain annual safety and infection control competencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects to provide comprehensive health services.
- Education:
Associate's degree in Nursing;
Bachelor's degree preferred. - Experience:
5 years of varied clinical nursing experience (including 1 year in ambulatory care) and 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience in healthcare.
- RN license in Alaska or eligible to obtain Alaska license within 6 months of hire; active BLS; clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years; manager competency required within 3 months and every 3 years.
- Knowledge of the nursing process, customer service principles, safety and infection control.
- Clinical skills including comprehensive assessments and specimen collection; technical skills with computers and medical equipment; strong oral and written communication.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently in a fast-paced environment, maintain annual competencies, problem-solve, and manage conflicts; ability to move quickly, stand long periods, and perform physical tasks as required.
- Regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, using hands; occasional climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
