Petro One, Sitka has an opening for a part‑time employee to assist customers at the service station.
THIS IS A YEAR-ROUND POSITION!
Must be available to work some weekends and evenings.
Must be at least age 18 to dispense propane.
Requirements:
No experience required, on‑the‑job training is available. General understanding of how automobiles work, and some sales ability. Familiar with local roads, highways, and points of interest so directions can be given to customers.
Some night and weekend work may be required. Attendant will spend time working outdoors in all kinds of weather as well as sales inside the store.
Professional and courteous customer service skills; work as part of a team and be able to accept responsibility. Work overtime during busy season; handle stressful situations and multi‑task. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time.
Professional, courteous internal and external customer service skills, ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, and ability to operate station equipment including registers, phones, and gaspumps required. Possess ability to work well as part of a team and accept responsibility. Work overtime during busy season; handle stressful situations and multi‑task.
Preferred that you already have current food worker's card, otherwise, have ability to secure food worker's card immediately upon hire.
Ability to pass training and commitment to comply with State requirements concerning tobacco sales. Age 21 to sell tobacco products.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time. Must be able to work around petroleum products, including fuel, motor oil, and propane gas. Also must be able to work around cleaning agents such as soap, general cleaning solutions, etc. Tasks involve unpacking freight, loading shelves, cleaning, bending, reaching, lifting, kneeling, standing, walking.
Ability to pass pre‑employment drug test.
