Truck Driver – Class A
Job Description

Reports to:
Trucking Manager
The primary function of a Class A Truck Driver is to safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle. A Truck Driver transports and delivers aggregate products, asphalt, concrete, and heavy equipment to our construction crews and local area customers accurately and timely while providing excellent customer service.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Does not have any direct reports.
- Drive and operate a commercial vehicle safely.
- Follow GPS instructions and road maps.
- Complete and document pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
- Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
- Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
- Reports needed repairs to the Trucking Manager.
- Follow all established company safety requirements.
- Follow on-site directions from customers or construction crews for delivery.
- Must be able to back up for long distances.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Possess and maintain a valid Class A driver’s license.
- Must be registered with the Clearinghouse.
- Pass a background check, drug screen, and driving history check.
- CDL medical card (medical examiner’s certificate (MEC)) preferred, but not required.
- Be able to work variable hours which may include overtime.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Good work attendance is a must.
- Ability to work safely in a team environment.
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to sit and drive for long durations.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
