Fleet Maintenance Manager
The Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee the daily operations of our trucking fleet, ensuring equipment readiness, driver support, and cost-effective performance. This role works closely with other managers and drivers to keep equipment running effectively and freight moving safely and on time. This is a key leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced trucking environment.
PayPay: $72,000-$75,000 depending on experiences
Essential Functions- Lead, schedule, and manage preventative and corrective maintenance on all assets.
- Manage daily fleet operations, including truck, trailer, forklift, and support equipment availability, utilization, and maintenance.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and work closely with maintenance providers to minimize downtime and submit required reports.
- Serve as a point of contact for drivers regarding equipment issues, breakdowns, and operational support.
- Monitor fleet health using maintenance and telematics platforms (e.g., samsara) and act on alerts and diagnostics.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
- 3+ years of recent experience managing the maintenance and functions of a trucking/logistics fleet similar in scope, size, and complexity, and with the same or similar type of trucking fleet vehicles/equipment.
- Solid knowledge of pm schedules.
- Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty diesel systems, air brakes, electrical, and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
- Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Suite, specifically with Excel Spreadsheet and Outlook.
- Ability to work flexible hours or respond to after‑hours emergencies.
- Ability to stand, walk, and inspect vehicles.
- Ability to lift or move up to 75
Ibs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
- In lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant work experience is required.
- CDL and ASE T-Series certifications are preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to make decisions under pressure.
- Strong prioritization skills to manage and implement projects and assignments.
