Position Overview:Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Case Manager to provide case management services to individuals and support various shelter activities. - Case Management: Complete initial client orientations and on‑going client case service plans. Respond to the needs of shelter clients with both scheduled and unscheduled interactions. Transport clients as necessary. Perform assigned casework duties.
- Outreach Services: Make appropriate referrals and coordinate services with other service providers.
- Data Management: Complete necessary forms and documentation. Complete daily documentation and communication for assigned clients.
- Professional Development: Complete required annual training. Maintain required certifications and proficiencies. Attend meetings.
- Shelter activities: May coordinate and facilitate shelter and non‑shelter programs as assigned. Assist in keeping the shelter clean and orderly. Serve as back up for crisis telephone calls, drop‑in counseling sessions, shelter intakes and departures. Care for and supervise children staying in shelter as assigned.
- Training: Assist with training needs of staff, interns and volunteers as assigned.
- Safety, Policies and Procedures: Ensure safety standards and infection control policies are followed.

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, or Human Services field preferred.
- Experience: Three years experience in human services preferred. References that can depict level of interest in working with individuals in crisis situations.
- Licensure: Valid Drivers License Preferred
Environment focused on care of individuals in crisis situations. The employee is regularly required to bend and sit on the floor. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to physically restrain a child in ways taught by the Agency while being able to verbally communicate to the child and other staff.
