A well-established Building Automation & HVAC Controls contractor is seeking a skilled BAS Controls Technician to support projects across the Sioux Falls region. This role is hands‑on and field‑based, focusing on installation, service, commissioning, and troubleshooting of modern DDC control systems used in commercial buildings, hospitals, education, manufacturing, and industrial facilities.

Position Details- Title: BAS Controls Technician
- Location: Sioux Falls, SD
- Employment Type: Full‑Time, Field‑Based
- Hourly Rate: $34.00 – $48.00/hr (DOE)
- Overtime: Available
- Vehicle: Company Vehicle or Monthly Allowance

- Install, configure, and commission DDC/BAS control systems for HVAC applications
- Troubleshoot BAS controllers, networks, sensors, and field devices
- Perform functional testing, point‑to‑point verification, and system startup
- Support retrofit upgrades, new construction, and ongoing service contracts
- Adjust programs, alarms, schedules, and graphics as needed
- Work closely with mechanical contractors, building engineers, and internal teams
- Document commissioning results, changes, and service activities
- Experience working with BAS/DDC systems in a field service or installation role
- Familiarity with Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar platforms
- Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, and Lon Works communication protocols
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, control prints, and sequence documentation
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in the field
- Professional communication and customer service skills
