Route Sales Representative

Overview

The Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Route Sales Representative for Sioux Falls, SD (and surrounding areas) sells premium meat snacks to retail grocery chains by performing the duties listed below.

• Travels assigned territory in company route van providing exceptional customer service and selling to key accounts.
• Overnight travel trip to ND once every 3 weeks; company reimbursed expenses.
• Fills orders by verifying warehouse pulls; loading truck.
• Delivers products to customers, places orders, unloads orders, stocks shelves and rotates products.
• Operates a handheld/printer to generate invoices for orders and obtain receipt signatures.
• Prepares end-of-day reports of business transactions and communicates unresolved issues to management.
• Maintains daily truck inventory and conducts monthly physical inventory; reports variations to management.
• Merchandises products by recommending and setting up displays; communicates weekly with Business Development Manager to grow sales in the region and sets up secondary displays as sold.
• Retrieves damaged product by loading product and issuing credit where applicable.
• Completes reports by logging call results, maintaining records, and recording competitor actions.
• Keeps vehicle operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventative maintenance; scheduling repairs.
