Department Details: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday. No weekends, or no holidays, no on call.
SummaryResponsible for implementing the core process of Sanford Employee Health to promote a safe and healthy workforce and environment.
Responsibilities- Implement the nursing process within Sanford and the continuum of care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning with outcome criteria, intervention, evaluation, and documentation of human responses to health problems.
- Utilize dependent, interdependent, and independent nursing functions within the full scope of nursing practice.
- Triage employee injuries to assess the need for initial and ongoing medical treatment and coordinate return-to-work processes.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within age- and population-specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting.
- Operate within the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice and licensure.
- Refer to the Sanford Professional Nursing Practice, the Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation of care delivery and professional conduct.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Experience in Employee Health/Occupational Health preferred. Strong physical assessment skills and self-motivation with excellent time management.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license where practice occurs; multistate licensure acceptable in NLC states.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific licensure, competencies, and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred as soon as eligible.
