The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long‑term care. The NA delivers resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), provides age‑appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs as per the care plan, follows infection prevention and control policies and uses personal protective equipment, and assists with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, psychosocial support, transfers, repositioning, walking, range of motion exercises, food preparation, dining, housekeeping, laundry, wellness and recreational programs, and documentation of resident interactions and care outcomes.

High school graduate or GED preferred. Minimum age 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long‑term care preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification within four months of position start date, with training provided by the facility. Must complete yearly competency testing and maintain 12 hours annual continuing education. Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry when applicable.
