Avera Behavioral Health Adult C Unit is designed to be a structured, therapeutic environment for adults to learn to understand their diagnosis, develop a Crisis Response Plan, use healthy coping skills and set and complete goals.

The LPN practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. The LPN organizes and directs those aspects of care for which he/she is accountable; communicating and coordinating care with well-defined nursing diagnoses, including all health team members.

• Collect data and conduct a focused nursing assessment of the health status of a patient
• Participate with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient-centered health care plan
• Implement nursing interventions within a patient-centered health care plan
• Assist in the evaluation of responses to interventions
• Provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly
• Advocate for the best interest of the patient
• Communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the health care team
• Assist with health counseling and teaching
• Delegate and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care
