Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a BSN and three years of recent OR nursing experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the acute care setting within a 35-OR room surgical department
- No floating to other units, but flexibility is required to work across all OR specialties as needed
- Shift options include 8, 10, or 12-hour day shifts; 12-hour shifts typically run 6:30 am to 7:00 pm with one late shift weekly
- Average of 2-4 night call team shifts per 4-week schedule and possibility of additional evening call shifts
- Work every 6th weekend day shift as needed
- EMR system used is Epic, previous experience with Epic preferred
- Provide circulating RN duties for assigned OR cases
- Rapid orientation to the unit typically completed within one week
- Hospital orientation includes training on charting and pre-op/PACU travel areas
- Ceil blue scrubs are provided and must be worn; no earrings permitted and surgical dress code must be observed
- Every candidate must badge in and out at the facility
- RTO requests are considered per assignment guidelines
- Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with a bill rate adjustment
- Active RN license in SD or compact state required at time of consideration
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current BLS certification required
- A minimum of 3 years recent OR nursing experience required
