This positions is only open to Regular Employees within the Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System.
The Nurse Manager provides leadership to staff, improving performance, satisfaction, and safety. Duties include creating schedules, conducting evaluations, and facilitating disciplinary actions. The incumbent reviews work processes, evaluates patient care effectiveness, and identifies service changes. This role also determines training needs, monitors education records, and emulates servant leadership characteristics.?
* Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to the assistant nurse manager and front-line nursing staff.
* Take action to improve performance indicators, customer service, and patient and employee safety.
* Develop schedules and complete performance evaluations for assigned staff.
* Facilitate performance and disciplinary actions when necessary.
* Review work processes to improve efficiency, safety, and resource management.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and overall utilization on the assigned unit.
* Identify the need for changes in services or care delivery and participate in action plan development.
* Identify developmental and training needs of personnel.
* Monitor, report, and record continuing education and training attendance records.
* Emulate servant leadership and High Reliability Organization leadership characteristics.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
