OverviewThe Compass Center is an innovative, trauma-informed non-profit victim service organization dedicated to supporting victims of sexual, relational and family trauma. The Mission “Navigating the journey to healing for all impacted by sexual, relational and family trauma” is fulfilled through a variety of programs, services, education and prevention initiatives. Core values include Safety, Compassion, Commitment, Integrity, and Expertise.
Position SummaryThe Board of Directors serves the mission and values of The Compass Center by providing fiduciary management and guidance to the Executive Director to ensure that the mission is fulfilled. Individual board members serve on the board in three year terms that may be repeated up to three times. This position requires commitment to bi-monthly board meetings and committee meetings as well as attending TCC events and serving as an advisor to the Executive Director on subject matters in which the board member has experience and expertise.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Agency Governance:
- Selection, employment and evaluation of Executive Director
- Oversight and approval of annual agency budget to ensure the fulfillment of agency mission and strategic priorities
- Facilitate connections to external businesses and individuals to aid in the agency’s development and education activities
- Act as an ambassador of TCC
- Regularly participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and agency events
This is a volunteer position on the Board of Directors. Experience on a non-profit board beneficial. A demonstrated interest in the work and mission of the organization.
