Position SummaryThe Production worker is responsible for operating and maintaining line equipment, monitoring the process, and assisting the production line with the preparation and packaging of products, ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and quality standards are met and maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company.
PositionResponsibilities
- Work on the Production line according to procedures. May switch positions every two hours and may be required to work other positions within the Production facility.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and personnel. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervision and/or report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain and follow GMP, Serv Safe, HACCP, SQF, OSHA and OLM Food Solutions standards in the work environment.
- Learn, participate and become knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing practices, Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
- General labor tasks as needed.
- Stack products on pallets.
- Operate inserter, box taper, cheese sealer, pallet stacker and related equipment as required.
- May start up and shut down operations for the line; set up and change over metal detection.
- Operate box and bag maker and ensure accurate operation of packaging equipment.
- Operate pallet stacker, stacking 25-pound cases onto a pallet.
- Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. Must be at least 18 years of age. - Communication/Language
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to read and comprehend documents, simple instructions and product labels. - Certifications:
Electric pallet jack and HACCP certification preferred. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to perform basic math and calculate figures and amounts. - Reasoning Abilities:
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and variables; strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities.
