Custom Truck Equipment of Bloomington is looking to hire for the Welder/Fabricator position.
ResponsibilitiesWelder fabricators read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or design specifications. They understand the dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols to create the intended metal structures.
Based on project requirements, welder fabricators choose the appropriate type and grade of metal for the job.
Welder fabricators use tools and equipment to cut and shape metal components according to design specifications (e.g., saws, shears, plasma cutters, lasers).
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding to join metal pieces.
Operate welding equipment such as welding machines, torches, and electrodes; set parameters to ensure strong and clean welds.
Assemble and fit cut and shaped metal pieces, aligning and positioning components before welding.
Ensure weld quality through visual inspection and may use non-destructive testing methods as needed.
Grind and finish welded joints and perform additional finishing tasks such as polishing or painting.
Work on custom projects requiring creativity and problem-solving; fabricate one-of-a-kind pieces based on client specifications.
Follow safety protocols, wear protective gear, and adhere to industry regulations and standards.
Welder fabricators contribute to industries including construction, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and more, creating a wide range of products from structural components to artistic metalwork.
Compensation and BenefitsPay: Based upon experience, anywhere from $18.00 - $28.00 per hour.
