Prairie Rehabilitation, a rehabilitation company specializing in physical, occupation, and speech therapy is seeking an energetic and organized individual to work full-time in our billing office as a Patients Account Representative. This position maintains patient billing records and submits insurance claims and other billing to appropriate entities on a timely basis.

The schedule for this position is:
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

• Files and monitors claims for payment on a timely basis
• Researches rejected claims to determine why payment was not made and makes appropriate corrections to re-file or make corrections to patient records as needed
• Maintains accounts receivable aging reports and works on delinquent accounts as needed
• Turns appropriate accounts over for collection
• Enters daily receipts into billing software to update patient accounts
• Prepares monthly patient statements and mails out on a timely basis
• Answers verbal and written inquires regarding billing and collections
• Monitors insurance and other payor claims and utilizes appropriate websites
• Performs other such duties and functions as are necessary for the proper performance of this position

• Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment
• Knowledge of recordkeeping and filing procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with office staff, patients, professional contacts and the general public
• Preferred knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing practices
• Preferred experience in insurance billing and collections, or experience in the medical office
