Great opportunity to build a career learning the technical field of sleep medicine. This position will be working directly with patients and teammates to provide diagnostic testing for sleep disorders as well as applying therapy for sleep apnea. Off campus sleep lab with 3 night shifts per week. Currently closed on holidays. This position will require board certification within two years of hire.
Job Summary
Performs quality diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG), as well as titration, multiple sleep latency (MSLT), and maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT) will be performed. Records and provides relevant and accurate data to physicians for diagnostic use in the treatment of patients with sleep/wake disorders.
What you will do:
Performing either Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations.
Understanding the testing equipment, including it’s structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient and basic maintenance/troubleshooting procedures.
Monitor and document appropriately in medical record per facility guidelines.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and accreditation.
Possess a knowledge and understanding of the disease and pathological conditions encountered.
Educating patients with prescribed therapies and sleep testing and following up as needed.
Acquire the ability to work with all age groups and those with growth and developmental needs of unique client populations.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program for Electroneuro diagnostic Technology or Respiratory Therapy, or other medical specialty preferred.
Possess basic knowledge of sleep disorders, electrical safety, with the skill to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for patient care.
Registry eligible with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
Will consider eligibility to register with the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
Registry eligible as a Respiratory Therapist (RT), or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) within two years of the date of hire into position.
Working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
Obtain and maintain mandatory continuing education units (CEU) each year to maintain licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 60 days of employment.
