Patient Care Technician – Float Pool – Full Time

Hours:
36.00 - Salary Range: $16.00 – $23.00 per hour
- Pay Info: Sign‑on bonus available for eligible applicants
- Shift Pattern: Three 12‑hour shifts per week, every third weekend and holiday commitment
As a PCT, you will serve as a caregiver to patients during scheduled work periods, providing patient‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities include recording vital statistics, assisting patients with dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and emotional support. You will clean patient areas, collect non‑invasive specimens, prepare treatment spaces, maintain medical equipment, and complete clerical tasks related to scheduling and documentation.
Strong communication, customer‑service, multitasking, and organizational skills are essential.
- Record vital statistics and basic health information, assisting in patient assessment.
- Administer basic health care and medical treatments as directed.
- Assist patients with daily living activities: dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, meal prep, and laundry.
- Provide emotional and spiritual support and respond to patient needs.
- Clean patient rooms and support clinical supply management.
- Collect non‑invasive biological specimens.
- Prepare and clean medical equipment and dispose of biomedical waste per policy.
- Perform clerical tasks related to scheduling and documenting patient care.
- Deliver one‑on‑one care when necessary for safe provision of care.
- High school graduate or GED (preferred, not required).
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment (preferred).
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (preferred); maintain required competencies and certifications.
- For North Dakota locations, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry within four months of employment if not a CNA.
