Position SummaryThe Clinical Therapist provides professional mental health counseling services to children, adolescents, and families within a Lutheran school setting serving students from Pre‑Kindergarten through High School. This role integrates evidence-based clinical practice with a compassionate, developmentally appropriate, and Christ‑centered approach that aligns with Lutheran theology and the mission of the school.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Services- Provide individual counseling to students across developmental stages (Pre‑K–12)
- Provide family counseling and parent consultations
- Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and progress evaluation
- Address anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, trauma, grief, and executive functioning concerns
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff as appropriate
- Participate in consultation meetings with proper consent
- Support school staff with mental health awareness guidance
- Uphold FERPA and HIPAA standards
- Provide services aligned with Lutheran theology and Christian values
- Integrate faith into counseling when appropriate and desired
- Participate in supervision as required
- Maintain licensure and continuing education
- Adhere to ethical guidelines
- Attend meetings and trainings as required
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, MFT
- Active clinical license
- Experience with children/adolescents
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- School-based counseling experience
- Play therapy or trauma-informed training
- Familiarity with ADHD/executive functioning
- Experience in faith-based settings
- LCMS affiliation (preferred, not required)
