We are looking for a Field Service Engineer for our Electrification Automation (EA) Business Unit. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products including photovoltaic inverters, medium‑voltage power distribution equipment, packaging and services, and solutions including automation.
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution system equipment (480 V–38 kV)
- Installation, testing, commissioning, and start‑up of LV and MV equipment; troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and consulting as required
- Flexibility in location and travel (up to 80 % of the time, possibly national)
- Support for Greenfield & Brownfield unit installations and commissioning activities throughout Siemens/USA
- Potential for hiring at a lower level if the candidate’s experience warrants
- High School diploma or GED and other relevant skills and experience
- 4+ years of directly related equipment experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of power distribution systems
- Experience with low and medium voltage switch gear
- Knowledge of breakers or high‑voltage equipment testing; ability to analyze test results and assess equipment condition
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits
- Availability for emergency and relief assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and adherence to guidelines
- Valid driver’s license in good standing; must be at least 21 years old for the Siemens vehicle plan
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- 3–5 years of field service experience
- Experience with protection and control relays
- Experience with project‑management software
- Experience with high‑voltage circuit breakers and SF6 gas circuit breakers
- Certifications:
MSHA 46/48, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E - TWIC card
- NETA/NICET certification

You’ll Benefit FromThe pay range for this position is $74,970 – $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5 % of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
