Position Overview
Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors (MMC) is seeking an experienced leader with mechanical and plumbing expertise to join our dynamic team as a Senior BIM Coordinator/VDC Technician
. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a team environment, can work independently while modeling, and is dedicated to enhancing the constructability of mechanical and plumbing designs. This fast-paced position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of projects, identifying potential issues before construction begins to improve project execution and deliver value to our customers.
- Review plumbing and mechanical construction documents and submittals to create corresponding construction models.
- Coordinate mechanical and plumbing systems using fabrication parts in Revit and Navis.
- Produce field installation drawings and reports for field and fabrication shop use.
- Maintain close communication with field teams, fabrication team, and project managers.
- Lead mechanical and plumbing teams in project coordination meetings.
- Set up projects in Revit.
- Perform intermediate family editing in Revit.
- Associate’s degree or certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (not necessary if proficiency in Revit and Navis is demonstrated).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical HVAC duct and piping systems materials installation.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems materials installation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Design or field experience is strongly recommended but not necessary.
- Experience with the following software:
- AutoCAD Fabrication (recommended)
- High intermediate to expert Revit knowledge
- High intermediate Navisworks Manage knowledge
- Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Evolve Mechanical (a plus)
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Excel/Outlook
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Estimated Salary range of $82,000 to $112,000 (depending on experience)
