Overview
Universal Banker-Sioux Falls. First Dakota is hiring a full-time Universal Banker to join our Sioux Falls team. The Universal Banker is responsible for performing branch duties to support and engage in First Dakota’s culture for exceptional customer service. The Universal Banker provides quality service through effective use of the Customer Service Expectations and actively looks for additional opportunities to deepen customer relationships through business interactions.
Duties include accepting retail, commercial checking and savings deposits, cashing checks and savings withdrawals, processing loan payments, and assisting with night depository and vault duties. Hours vary Monday–Friday 7:40–5:40 and rotating Saturdays 9–12. Incentive pay for working Saturdays.
- Greet customers as they enter the Bank and assist them to the proper area.
- Provide personalized banking services to current and prospective customers, expanding customer relationships and delivering high levels of service by matching products and services to customer needs.
- Prepare and compile new customer applications and open accounts.
- Analyze credit and financial information for processing deposit accounts and other bank products, adhering to policy and procedures.
- Respond to customer inquiries and requests regarding accounts or additional services; resolve disputes and other activity as appropriate.
- Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, payments, and coin and cash orders accurately and courteously.
- Promote and cross-sell banking products and services as appropriate to customer needs.
- Provide ongoing relationship servicing with customers.
- Balance teller drawer daily according to the Teller Manual.
- Count and balance cash in ATM.
- Identify fraud risk to help prevent potential loss to First Dakota.
- Research and resolve customer questions effectively.
- Participate in training programs, branch huddles, and related activities.
- Meet or exceed annual ICP objectives.
- Provide back-up support in the absence of a lead or supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with bank requirements.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
The following are required or preferred qualifications as described:
High school diploma or GED; strong customer service and cash handling experience preferred. Attributes include a positive attitude, good work ethic, ability to process transactions accurately and efficiently, maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, and adherence to bank policies. Effective communication with clients, co-workers, and departments; strong organizational skills; ability to work well in a team; punctuality.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Customer Service and Cash Handling Experience Preferred.
Work Environment & Physical DemandsOffice setting with moderate noise; occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Physical demands include bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
