Job Overview
Midwestern Mechanical, an employee-owned (ESOP) company, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to oversee Commercial HVAC projects from start to finish. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to ensure successful project execution while upholding our commitment to quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Project Manager Responsibilities- Manage all phases of HVAC projects, from pre-planning to completion.
- Evaluate and compare quotes, providing informed recommendations.
- Prepare, oversee, and manage project budgets to ensure profitability.
- Maintain and inventory all project manuals.
- Lead and participate in project meetings, effectively communicating with stakeholders.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors through various communication channels.
- Conduct project site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Manage subcontracts, change orders, and work schedules.
- Handle written and verbal correspondence related to project requirements.
- Create, track, and distribute requests for information.
- Support and guide the onsite project team to meet contract and company standards.
- Review and approve subcontractor payments and purchase orders.
- Assist the Foreman in procuring materials and equipment for timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners.
- Track, report, and control project progress, ensuring completion of punch lists.
- Execute project close-out documents and resolve budget or schedule variances.
- Manage submittals and documentation per project requirements.
- Oversee time tracking and submit accurate timecards.
- Ability to navigate construction sites safely, including uneven surfaces, heights, and potential hazards.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer workstation.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- B.S. in construction management, engineering, or project management preferred but not required. Field experience is a plus.
