K is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join its talented team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. K , headquartered in Houston, Texas, is the primary contractor to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for performing work at the Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) near Sioux Falls, SD.
Education: Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in office management, secretarial science or related field preferred. At least four (4) years of clerical and/or administrative assistant experience. Additional directly related experience may substitute for education at the rate of two years of experience equaling one year of education at the hiring manager’s discretion.
Experience: Minimum of two+ (2+) years, prefer four (4) years directly related professional experience
Job DescriptionThis position provides administrative support to the Technical Support Services Contract (TSSC) under the direction of the K Office Manager. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the assigned staff on the TSSC contract. This position requires excellent communication skills and high level of confidentiality; applies basic fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to current work following USGS and K policies and procedures.
General office duties are completed with professionalism and tact.
- Maintain confidential information
- Provide Administrative support to project meetings by starting Teams, taking notes and updating project software tools
- Preparing/arranging travel (domestic and international), securing approvals, visas, country clearance, travel vouchers and reimbursements
- Preparing presentations, agendas, reports, and memos
- Develop/maintaining spreadsheets and databases
- Writing/updating Administrative processes and procedures
- Schedule meetings, answering calls, maintaining supplies, and distributing mail
- Ability to provide Administrative support to 80+ TSSC contract staff members
- Circulate paperwork or forms for proper approvals
- Prior experience with maintaining confidential data/information highly desired
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, SharePoint, One Drive, Word, and Excel
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience as a Government Contractor a plus
- Must have self-confidence and interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal and external customers; exercises initiative and tact
- Ability to work with a team of Administrative Assistants supporting over 450 TSSC Contract Staff as a primary Administrative Assistant as well as backing up the rest of the team
- Position will be 40 hours per week, onsite at Earth Resources Observation Science Center (EROS)
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
Special Requirements- Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account
