The typical schedule is Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM with Saturday as needed.
Job Summary Drives mixer truck to deliver concrete mix to customer job sites in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily truck inspections and report needed repairs or safety concerns.Perform daily housekeeping in truck cab and maintenance of equipment, including fluid levels and tire pressure.Drive truck safely into position to receive load and adjust ready mix to proper slump.Adjust drum revolutions to improve concrete quality.Drive truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.Communicate with customer to understand requirements of the job and deal with safety concerns. Clear communication is a must.Position truck for unloading and attach chutes safely.Adjust moisture to contractor's requirements.Clean truck safely after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck, using water hose and hoe. This may require climbing up the ladder using 3 points of contact onto the platform.Complete record‑keeping tasks, including note changes made to the product and any weather and environmental conditions on the load ticket for quality assurance; daily timekeeping and time off requests; inspection reports.Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED.A CDL license with two years of truck driving experience.Maintain a medical card and an acceptable driving record.One to three months experience and/or training related to ready mix delivery.Ability to use a computerized time‑tracking system.A DOT medical card, or the ability to obtain one.Compensation
Beginning pay rate for mixer driver: $24.85 per hour, and up, depending on experience.
Beginning pay rate for ready‑mix driver: $26.70 per hour, and up, depending on experience.
