Role Overview
The Quality Control Assistant supports the Quality Control (QC) Department in ensuring construction projects meet company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements. This role assists with inspections, documentation, reporting, and communication between project teams to help maintain a high standard of workmanship and compliance across all job sites.
Responsible to perform a variety of clerical, accounts payable, human resources, safety and other pertinent duties as assign.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Starting wage is $21.25/HR and up, depending on experience.
Duties and/or Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, distribution, and tracking of punch lists and follow-up items.
- Maintain accurate QC records, logs, and inspection reports.
- Help organize and manage project documentation such as submittals, test reports, permits, and compliance documents.
- Assist in preparing QC summaries, weekly reports, and progress updates.
- Check and review plant reports (HMA, PCC).
- Calibration records and due dates.
- Work with team members to troubleshoot issues that might arise.
- Update IM’s and spec provisions.
- Assist with the schedule for team members.
- Enter data into Stonemont daily.
- Ensure DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Able to work independently and under time constraints.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or construction education preferred.
- Experience in construction, engineering, or quality control support is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and document findings clearly.
- Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and terminology.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with project management or QA software.
- Knowledge of HMA mix production.
- Knowledge of Stonemont.
