Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring step-down experience and current Iowa or compact RN licensure.

• Position is in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Day shifts are 12 hours, three days per week
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Rotating holidays are required, including specific winter holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
• Traveler may be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Uses Cerner for electronic medical records
• Contribute clinical knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Orientation consists of 16 hours
• Must be able to work two of the three major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Time off requests are limited during peak holiday periods
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates previously employed within the last 12 months may not be considered

• Active Iowa or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years previous step-down experience required
• At least one completed travel contract required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment location
• Supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
