Position OverviewSioux City Country Club - Sioux City, Iowa
Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 annually
Total Anticipated Compensation:
Up to $100,000 annually (inclusive of incentives)
The Head Golf Professional reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the leadership, management, and daily operation of all golf-related activities at Sioux City Country Club (SCCC). This role oversees the Golf Shop, outside operations, instructional programming, tournaments, and the overall golf experience for Members and Guests. The Head Golf Professional serves as a visible ambassador of the Club, fostering a culture of exceptional service, professionalism, and engagement while ensuring operational excellence and financial performance across all golf operations.

ExperienceRequired Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- PGA Member in good standing (required)
- Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in golf operations
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of golf shop operations, merchandising, instruction, and tournament administration
- Deliver a consistently exceptional golf experience for Members and Guests
- Maintain a high level of visibility and engagement within the golf operation
- Ensure all Members and Guests are greeted warmly and professionally
- Establish and enforce daily pace-of-play standards
- Lead, train, coach, and develop all golf operations staff
- Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and service excellence
- Hire, train, and evaluate golf operations employees (with GM approval)
- Conduct annual and semi-annual performance reviews and recommend compensation adjustments
- Ensure professional appearance standards, including uniforms and nametags
- Direct daily golf shop operations and outside golf services
- Oversee practice facility setup, golf cart operations, bag storage, locker room services, and club repair
- Develop, promote, and administer tournaments, outings, and special events
- Plan and execute instructional programs and private lesson offerings
- Coordinate tournament awards, gifts, and merchandising support
- Manage golf shop merchandising, purchasing, and inventory control
Maintain profitable inventory turnover and cost-of-sales guidelines
Oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and monthly physical inventories
Ensure accurate POS operation, pricing, and tax compliance
Prepare monthly merchandise reports for General Manager review
Assist in the preparation and management of the annual golf shop operating budget Facilities & Standards- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all front- and back-of-house golf areas
- Ensure locker room operations meet the highest service and cleanliness standards
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of towels and amenities
- Professionally manage tee time reservations and telephone communications
- Communicate effectively with Members, Guests, vendors, and staff
- Promote club service philosophy and brand standards at all times
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned
