They employ non-invasive imaging techniques, primarily ultrasound, to evaluate blood flow, identify blockages, and detect abnormalities within the circulatory system.​
Common Duties of a Vascular Technologist:
Patient Preparation:
Obtain patients' personal information and medical history, explain procedures, and position patients appropriately for examinations. ​
Conducting Examinations:
Perform non-invasive vascular tests, including ultrasound and Doppler studies, to assess blood flow and detect vascular diseases or disorders. ​
Image Analysis:
Evaluate images and data to identify abnormalities, providing preliminary findings to assist physicians in diagnosis. ​
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance. ​
