Estimator - Plumbing

About the Role

Thompson Solutions Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial and commercial plumbing projects. • Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documentation to develop detailed plumbing estimates
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using estimating software
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and owners to gather necessary information
• Prepare comprehensive project scope proposals in alignment with submission deadlines
• Track and record current and previous bid results, monitor upcoming opportunities, and provide feedback for future improvements
• Source and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Work closely with project managers and field leaders to break down job costs and prepare material orders
• Assist in project turnover meetings by providing detailed cost and material breakdowns

• High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, or related field preferred
• Experience in construction or plumbing is a plus, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and solid mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents
• Computer proficiency required; must be skilled in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn industry software
• Familiarity with industrial plumbing systems such as process piping, backflow prevention, medical gas systems, and high-pressure water systems is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required
