We are seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer II to support the development of advanced electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. This role involves designing, implementing, and validating FPGA-based solutions for mission-critical hardware used in high-reliability environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with FPGA development tools, hardware design methodologies, and defense-related projects, along with eligibility for U.S. DoD Secret clearance.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog
- Perform architecture definition, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware validation
- Utilize industry tools such as Xilinx Vivado and Intel Quartus for FPGA development
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering
- Support board bring‑up, integration, and troubleshooting activities
Generate technical documentation, test plans, and design reports - Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements for defense applications
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2+ years of FPGA design experience
- Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog
- Experience with Vivado, Quartus, or similar FPGA tool chains
- Knowledge of digital design principles, timing closure, and hardware debugging
- Experience working on aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability systems preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Experience with high‑speed interfaces, signal processing, or embedded systems
- Familiarity with hardware test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
- Understanding of MIL-STD or other defense-related standards
- Experience in full lifecycle hardware development
