Overview

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids' birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a fun, engaging, and stress-free experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by assisting customers and ensuring a quick checkout process. Complete operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise handling, and maintaining store standards to uphold our Brand Promises.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
  • Create a fun and creative environment for clients of all ages.
  • Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities.
  • Manage party add-ons like goody bags and balloons.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members about events.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork.
  • Adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans as necessary.
  • Ensure client satisfaction during events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards before, during, and after events.
  • Customer Experience
  • Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
  • Ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Promote and enroll customers in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Educate customers about Voice of Customer surveys.
  • Support omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram activities.
  • Perform merchandise recovery and store maintenance.
  • Support store safety, shrink, and compliance programs.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with all customers and team members.
  • Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
  • Participate in store cleanliness activities.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience
    • Energetic, enthusiastic personality.
    • Ability to handle stress and interact effectively with guests and team members.
    • Excellent people skills.
    • Experience with children’s events.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Retail and customer service experience required.
    Physical Requirements and Work Environment
    • Stand for long periods, move throughout the store.
    • Bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
    • Lift heavy items and access high shelves with ladders.
    • Work includes nights, weekends, and early mornings in a climate-controlled store setting, with some outdoor work.
