Location: Simi Valley, CA
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Pay: $24 - $26 per hour DOE
We are seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to join our team in Simi Valley. In this role, you'll be responsible for ordering, storing, issuing, and maintaining all tools and fixtures used in the machine shop. You will keep the tool room organized, manage inventory through Auto Crib, and communicate with shop personnel to ensure timely service and prevent machine downtime.
This position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of tool inspection and repair, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Order, receive, store, issue, and maintain tools and holders (Auto Crib & Excel)
- Maintain accurate electronic inventory records and transactions
- Perform cycle counts and inventory transactions
- Inspect tools and fixtures for quality and wear
- Pre-kit jobs, preset tools, and verify kits to programs
- Recommend proper tool applications for various materials and processes
- Manage reconditioned tools and carbide recycling logistics
- Communicate effectively with machinists and leadership to support production
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements
- Perform adjustments or minor repairs to tools and equipment
- Lift up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally (with assistance)
- Other duties as assigned
- 2+ years' experience in part operations, tool crib, or related environment
- Basic knowledge of CNC and conventional equipment set-up
- Understanding of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and tool life (aerospace materials preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Auto Crib/Crib Master
- Ability to read blueprints and follow quality requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must meet State Department eligibility requirements (Resident Card Holder)
