Position Overview

The Coating Technician will be responsible for applying various types of coatings to carbide cutting tools, ensuring quality and consistency in accordance with specifications. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of coating processes, maintenance of coating machine, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare tools for coating by cleaning, organizing, and staging.
• Apply coatings using the PVD coating machine.
• Ensure proper settings and application of coating materials to meet specifications.
• Monitor the coating process and adjust as needed to ensure optimal results.
• Inspect coated products for quality, including adherence, thickness, and finish.
• Helps manage coated tool inventory products to ensure gaps are covered.
• Maintain and troubleshoot coating equipment, ensuring it is clean and operational.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Document processes and maintain accurate records of materials used and work performed.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in coating or related field preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in coating or finishing operations.
• Mechanical skills and repair ability.
• Knowledge of various coating materials and application techniques.
• Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a coating environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
• Basic computer skills.
