Parker Meggitt
, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables.

We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

Position Summary

The Materials Handler ensures proper and timely flow of all materials and products from arrival until stored or shipped, following established policies and procedures. Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, while following policies, procedures and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Receives, stocks, and disburses parts or materials, loads or unloads trucks, and disburses parts, materials and supplies to other team members as required
  • Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices
  • Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items
  • Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines
  • Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped
  • Demonstrates all safety policies and procedures
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Qualifications
  • Ability to write, communicate and utilize math skills
  • Must know cycle-counting
  • Skilled in using powered industrial trucks, material handling equipment and small hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Capable of operating within structured/supervised environment and follow written and oral instructions with little supervision
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
Education

High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Certifications

Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Years Experience

2+ years of relevant experience

Compensation & Benefits

Salary information (California): Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, and location as well as market and business considerations.

  • Pay Range: $18.9/hr to $31.5/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
