📍 About the RoleThis is a full‑time, permanent role (minimum 40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, based out of our Distribution Centre in Silverdale. Occasional weekend work may be required depending on operational demands.
- Reporting to the Distribution Centre & Warehouse Manager, you will play a critical role serving all Riviera stores and trade customers across the region.
- This is not an entry‑level driving role — we are seeking a highly competent, confident HIAB operator who understands crane stability, load security, and site safety in real‑world environments.
- You will be trusted to operate independently, represent our brand professionally on customer sites, and deliver high‑value products including timber, building materials, and prefabricated frames and trusses.
- This role will suit someone who takes pride in precision, safety, and getting the job done right the first time.
- Operate truck‑mounted crane / HIAB safely and efficiently
- Assess and position vehicle on varied job sites (confined access, uneven terrain, overhead hazards)
- Load, secure, transport and unload building materials and frames/trusses
- Complete pre‑start checks and ensure all lifting gear is compliant and safe
- Follow Work Safe NZ guidelines and load restraint regulations
- Complete all documentation accurately (delivery dockets, transfers, compliance checks)
- Support stock handling, yard assistance, and general DC duties when required
- Maintain professional presentation and customer service at all times
- Adhere strictly to NZ road codes and company H&S policies
- Full NZ Driver Licence – Class 4 minimum (Class 5 advantageous)
- Proven HIAB / truck‑mounted crane experience (minimum 3+ years highly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of load security, weight distribution, and crane stability
- Confident working on active building sites with strong hazard awareness
- Clean driving record (no convictions within the last 3 years)
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Excellent spatial awareness and route planning capability
- Calm, solution‑focused mindset with strong communication skills
