We are WAGI
WAGI is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician’s Assistant (PA-C) to join our gastroenterology medical practice. This role will be a hybrid role with the APP splitting their time working in our Clinic and in our affiliated hospitals .
This position will work 4-10’s, Monday through Friday. The individual will be working half-day at WAGI’s Silverdale Clinic and half-day at Saint Michael’s or other affiliate hospital.
The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP), as an independent healthcare provider, is responsible for delivering comprehensive treatment to both well and sick patients while working collaboratively within the gastroenterology health team. Via direct patient care, consultation, research, education, and partnership with other healthcare providers, demonstrates a high level of clinical experience in providing gastroenterology healthcare. Patients and families are educated by the APP on how to encourage wellbeing, avoid health complications, improve current health, and engage in acute and chronic illness.
APPs are mentored by practice Physicians; PA-Cs practice within the WA State licensing to include practicing medicine with Physician supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide care autonomously to a case load of inpatients in both our gastroenterology practice clinic and affiliated hospitals
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problems
- Prescribe and regulate medications per prescriptive authority in Washington State
- Provides guidance and health education to patients to promote and maintain health within gastroenterology practice
- Order selected diagnostic tests and procedures as indicated by the patient’s condition
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits; maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information; triages patient telephone calls and provides medical advice and guidance
- Document patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of patient care to include verbal and phone communications
- Participate in clinical research studies as requested

Qualifications
The following are requirements for Physician Assistant candidates:
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEA
- Current BLS certification required
- Current Washington State Driver’s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed
- Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
- Clinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferred
The following are requirements for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner candidates:
- Current WA State RN License
- Current BLS certification required
- Current Washington State Driver’s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed
- Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
- Clinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferred
