Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab Pre/Post Recovery position, requiring a WA or Compact RN license and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
• Work in an acute care Cardiac Cath Lab Pre/Post Recovery unit
• Unit consists of 16 beds and a radial lounge with 6-7 recovery lounge chairs
• Average of 30 cases per day including left and right heart caths, complex PCI, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral vascular procedures
• Uses Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication management
• 8 or 10 hour evening shifts with typical shifts between 11am-9:30pm or 1pm-9:30pm; flexible scheduling negotiable during interview
• Call required 4-7 days per month with response time within 60 minutes, although within 30 minutes is preferred
• On-call coverage for holidays only
• No routine floating required unless for emergency response
• Unit is staffed daily with 16 RNs and supported by a lead charge nurse
• Primary responsibilities include admitting and recovering patients after cardiac and vascular procedures
• Hospital-issued surgical attire is required
• Interdisciplinary support from 24/7 cardiology, RT, pharmacy, and a specialized IV team
• Less than one week of unit-specific orientation provided for competent candidates
• First-time travelers are welcome and supported by a welcoming team environment
• Holiday coverage limited to on-call shifts
• This is a traveler need due to recent expansion of services
Requirements
• Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Must provide two professional references, including one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
