CDL-A Driver; Primary​/Farm

Description

Sowers Farm Holdings is a diversified dairy, beef, poultry, and crop farm seeking a dependable CDL-A Driver. The primary responsibility of this position is picking up milk on the farm and transporting it to processing facilities, as well as hauling grain to regional mills.

This is primarily a driving position. When not hauling, the driver will assist with equipment operation and other farm activities as needed.

• Primarily weekday schedule
• Early mornings required
• One scheduled milk load every Sunday (required)
• Extended hours during harvest and peak hauling periods
• Flexibility required based on production schedules and weather

Reliability is critical, especially for scheduled milk pickups.

• Pick up raw milk on the farm
• Transport milk to processing facilities
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Monitor temperature and protect product integrity
• Complete required documentation and compliance logs

• Haul grain to regional mills
• Ensure safe load securement
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain DOT compliance and accurate records

When not scheduled for hauling, assist with:

• Equipment operation during planting and harvest
• Hay and forage production
• Manure hauling and land application
• Equipment washing and basic maintenance
• Other general farm activities as needed

• Starting pay with CDL-A and tanker endorsement: based on experience
• Entry-level starting pay is $24.00/hour
• Higher pay available based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated capability

Candidates interested in obtaining a CDL may be hired at the Equipment Operator starting rate ($24.00/hour). Upon successful completion of CDL-A licensing and tanker endorsement, compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
