The OR Nurse plans and delivers patient care.

• The OR Nurse plans and delivers patient care.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinations.
• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communication of patient condition.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
• Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation.
• Educate patients and family.
• Plan continuum of care.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN/MSN within a specific time frame).
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating).

• BSN or MSN preferred.
