The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $43.00 - $50.00 per hour.
The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess and document patient health status: interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history; collect and record nursing assessment and interventions; review and report results of health status assessments, physical examinations, laboratory data, radiographic data and psychosocial assessments to the provider; assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials; provide psychosocial support; maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Therapy administration under physician direction: administer medications and blood products with correct dosage, route, time and technique; ensure pre-authorization and consent forms where applicable; modify doses based on patient status, labs, protocol or treatment plan in consultation with the physician; perform venipuncture, access ports and maintain central lines; maintain accurate documentation; apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures.
  • Maintain work environment: restock supplies; follow OSHA guidelines for cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and infections control; maintain disinfection protocols; maintain equipment according to quality control standards.
  • Clinical operations and patient care: manage medication refill requests from the pharmacy line and document in patient chart; assist physician with exams and procedures; ensure efficient patient flow in exam rooms; coordinate consultations, pre-testing, diagnostics, referrals and future appointments; triage phone calls and document relevant information; facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team; assist patients in locating community resources; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interprofessional collaboration: assist and collaborate with clinical research; act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants; provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.
  • Participate in professional development to maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing.

Infusion RN – Specialty Specific Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities: Prepares and administers therapies under the direction of the physician; programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in home pump use; demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use, maintenance, cleaning after use, and proper documentation.
Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Business

    Experience:

    0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting of patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
