Job Summary
The Development Manager will play a key role in enhancing the fundraising efforts of A Wider Circle. This position focuses on cultivating relationships with current and prospective donors, primarily corporate, while also overseeing fundraising campaigns and managing donor engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, detail and data orientation, and a passion for advancing the mission of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Fundraising:
Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, including prospecting and stewardship of corporate donors. Track interactions with corporate donors, maintaining data accuracy to inform engagement strategies. Write proposals as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. - Corporate Donor Relations:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate donors, ensuring regular communication and acknowledgment of contributions. Manage the corporate donor journey, helping to build communication templates and ensuring timely delivery of acknowledgment letters. Collaborate with team members to enhance donor engagement efforts over time. - Event Engagement:
Organize engagement events and support volunteer activities that specifically involve corporate donors, ensuring both small and large events effectively raise awareness and foster connections. Plan community outreach efforts to enhance stakeholder engagement. - Data Management:
Maintain and update donor databases for corporate data, ensuring accurate record-keeping of contributions and interactions. Coordinate with relevant team members to prepare regular updates and reports on fundraising progress and donor engagement. - Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and event outcomes for stakeholders and board members.
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of corporate fundraising and donor stewardship practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in donor management software and data tracking systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
