Job Title: Patient Transport, Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Evening Shift (12pm to 8:30pm)

Description: Holy Cross Health is seeking a Supervisor to oversee the direct flow of all hospital patient transport staff and equipment utilized within Holy Cross Hospital, including par-level management and inventory of hospital transport equipment. Provides supervisory support for Transport personnel, administers departmental policies and procedures, conducts employee evaluations, corrective action, and establishes monthly work schedules. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Specialized in customer service and customer relations.
  • Be able to keep accurate records and write detailed reports pertaining to daily operations.
  • Be able to administer Hospital policies and procedures and evaluate employees under his/her direction.
  • Be able to administer all Hospital safety programs and JACHO related policies and procedures.
  • Be able to give direction and achieve departmental goals. Ability to make independent decisions under minimal supervision that are consistent with department goals and satisfying to the customer.
  • Be able to conduct departmental meetings.
  • Be able to give presentations to groups of staff and administrators when called upon. Training in the use of the equipment used to transport patients is recommended.
  • Responsible for the productivity of all transporters/dispatcher staff members.
  • Monitor and staff responsibility for either a specific department function or for a certain shift and number of employees.
  • Must have the ability to organize day-to-day workflow and prioritize, adjust, and redistribute workload as necessary to ensure that optimal service and resource use is achieved within the unit being supervised.
  • Responsibility to ensure that departmental and organizational policies are consistently communicated and that practice within their area of responsibility is aligned with these expectations.
  • Primary management contact for staff concerns and directly oversees the communication of organizational objectives to the staff.
  • Must be able to communicate skills and the ability to educate staff are important elements of this job.
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Reports directly to the Manager of Transport Services or to the Security Director in the absence of Departmental supervisory personnel.
What You Will Need
  • High School or GED required.
  • Three years of experience in a patient transportation setting or an equivalent setting which includes three years of supervisory capacity.
  • CPR Certified through the American Heart Association
  • Must be able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.

Pay Range: $21.74 - $30.44

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
