Why This Role MattersThe Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and individuals served by Didlake. This position directly supports daily operations by ensuring all assigned areas meet cleanliness, safety, and quality standards while upholding Didlake’s mission and values.
What You Will Do- Independently clean restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators, escalators, and other assigned work areas.
- Sweep floors using brooms and mop floors as needed.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
- Dust furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
- Polish metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to designated disposal areas.
- Sort and transport recyclable materials to designated recycling areas.
- Replenish restroom supplies as needed.
- Perform work with attention to quality, detail, and consistency.
- Maintain appropriate conduct and professional demeanor in accordance with Didlake policy.
- Follow safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Complete and maintain all required Didlake training.

- Willingness to follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- High School diploma or GED, or six months of previous custodial work experience.
- Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
- Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with custodial work.
